Join the FQNA!

Whether you join as a Busines, Family, or Individual Member, you will get updates on what is happening in the neighborhood. That might include an early alert about a hotel proposal, BAR and zoning applications that could affect our neighborhood, efforts to address homelessness, or announcements of road closures in our neighborhood for construction or special events. We’ll let you know about upcoming events like our Holiday party, social gatherings, clean up days and other fun events.

You will have access to our Board for your concerns. We interact with various City agencies on a weekly basis and know who to call when an issue needs to get to the right people fast. The FQNA routinely engages with the City of Charleston's Livability Department, and Neighborhood Services Department to raise neighborhood concerns and work to create a safe and equitable environment for all concerned.

Our Board President meets with various other neighborhood groups, the Mayor, our Councilperson and other concerned groups within the Peninsula Neighborhood Consortium. It is withing those meeting that we often get early insight into what is happening throughout Charleston. That information cones right back to our members through various media.

Each year, we have a neighborhood meeting in which we elect officers, invite city or developer representatives to address us, and vote on our FQNA leadership. Individual and Family members get one vote apiece (for example, a family of 4 gets one vote), but Business members do not get a vote. While we look out for the interest of all businesses and residents in our Association, our By-laws restrict voting to non-business members.
